Para el dia de Reyes mis padres le regalaron a Rodrigo José un Nintendo DS lite, un buen regalo para el hijo de un geek.

De inmediato recorde las primeras reuniones de GULIP cuando hadesx llevó un DS corriendo linux y por lo tanto me dispuse a ubicar en la red información para hacer lo propio con el DS de mi hijo.

Me encontré con el proyecto DSLinux, proyecto que ha logrado crear una imagen de linux booteable en el DS, este es su site: http://dslinux.org/ Ahí encontraran las imágenes y la documentación necesaria para correr el sistema.

Como pueden ver la pantalla táctil se convierte en un teclado y la pantalla superior funciona como monitor. Espero poder publicar mas sobre este sistema siempre y cuando Rodrigo José me permita usar su DS nuevamente.

Hoy culmina este año [y la primera década del siglo XXI], en resumen… el 2009 me dejó lo siguiente:

En lo familiar…

- Marieche y yo tenemos 9 años juntos, Rodrigo José cumplió 3 años y Rodolfo José 1 añito.

En lo profesional…

- Cumplí 6 semestres trabajando como docente en la Udefa y he sido clasificado en la categoría de Agregado. Actualmente coordino el comité de Trabajo Especial de Grado de la Escuela de Electrónica.

- Renuncié a VIT

En lo musical…

-  los  discos que valieron la pena: Dream Theater – Black Clouds & Silver Linings, Mastodon – Crack the Skye, Chickenfoot – Chickenfoot.

- Asistí a los conciertos de: Iron Maiden y de algunas bandas locales

- Compré una Guitarra Acústica Fretmaster.

En lo geek…

- Agregué los siguientes gadgets [o peroles] a mi colección: Lemote Yeelong MiniLaptop, Lemote Fuloong MiniPC, Guitar Hero Drums for Wii, Palm Centro (Smart Phone) y quizas algun otro que se me escape.

- Trollie en el FLISOL Paraguaná, CNSL Caracas y SFD Paraguaná

- Momento GEEK 1: Ver como un respetable miembro de la comunidad venezolana del software libre mostró unos deseos enfermizos de lanzar un chicle a la cabellera de RMS.

- Momento GEEK 2: Las verdes que me tomé con los compañeros de FSFLA.

lo que me viene en 2010…

- Iniciar mi Postgrado (espero cumplirlo esta vez)

- Aprender el arte de hacer expresar las cuerdas de una Guitarra Acústica.

- Organizar el CNSL en Falcón

- Asistir al Concierto de Metallica + Mastodon el 12/03 y a Dream Theater [+ Cynic] el 24/03 (Marzo es el mes del metal!!!)

- Viajar en Familia, hacer turismo nacional

- Trabajar, y seguir trabajando :s

Qué tal?

El pasado sábado 19/09/2009 organizamos en la Universidad de Falcón un evento enmarcado en el Día de la Libertad del Software (http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/). Fue nuestra primera experiencia en esta institución y podemos decir que fué todo un éxito, cerca de 70 personas asistieron y llenaron las 2 aulas destinadas para esta actividad.

Para este evento presentamos 3 charlas informativas:

La primera una charla/demostración de cómo fabricar antenas con material de desecho a cargo de Octavio Rossell (padre).

En esta oportunidad me tocó exponer 2 veces, dicté una charla informativa del Proyecto Canaima y desempolvé mi antigua charla de Reciclaje de Hardware con GNU/Linux.

Quiero agradecer a las siguientes instituciones y grupos por su colaboración:

- Universidad de Falcón (UDEFA) por brindarnos sus espacios y ayudarnos con el refrigerio.

- Centro Nacional de Tecnologías de Información (CNTI), por el material POP y los discos de Canaima.

- Software Freedom International, por la plataforma organizacional que permite organizar este evento en mas de 400 puntos del planeta.

- Gustavo Revilla, del Grupo de Usuarios de OpenSolaris por el material.

Lamentándolo mucho nuestra cámara se dañó, por lo que estamos en busca de las fotos tomadas por los asistentes y así crear una galería oficial del evento con sus aportes (Escriban a gulip.directiva@gmail.org para obtener mas detalles), Estaremos rifando un combo con stickers, franelas, discos y otros para los que aporten fotos.

El pasado fin de semana se efectuó la cayapa de Canaima en la ciudad de Mérida, 2 jornadas muy interesantes de como hacer país con el uso de la tecnología. Todo lo referente a los resultados de la actividad lo puedes ver acá y mis fotos por aqui (Tomé pocas, la cámara tenia problemas).

Aparte de participar en las discusiones sobre el futuro de la metadistribución, pude presentar a los asistentes una charla sobre la adopción de la plataforma mipsel en Canaima, el bios libre y sus implicaciones.

Durante esos 2 días compartí con: Kwolf, Overflow, e1th0r, Dam1an, willicab, cmarrero, metallinux, joaquinm, satanas, elsanto, liramusik y demás panas del CNTI y la Comunidad.

Adicionalmente la ultima noche fui a visitar a 2 amigas: matica y poguis… quienes acompañaban a MRDANGER, compartimos unas verdes con guitar hero incluido.
